Lipodissolve™

Lipodissolve injections, also called injection lipolysis, is a procedure where a combination of substances, including vitamins, enzymes and phosphatidylcholine, a natural substance derived from soy, is injected into fat pockets essentially melting them. Phosphatidylcholine (PPT) is already found in the body and used in a number of chemical pathways, particularly in fat metabolism.

How will Lipodissolve injections benefit me?

These injections are a non-surgical alternative to liposuction for smaller areas of fat, including:

• lipomas (fatty lumps)
• lower eyelid
• double chin
• cheeks / jowls
• buttocks / upper legs (cellulite)
• inner thighs
• upper and under arm
• "love handles"
  
• hips
• knees

Although lipodissolve reduces cellulite to some extent, the best treatment for cellulite is mesotherapy and it can be used in conjuction with lipodissolve injections.

The necessary number of treatments differs for each person, depending upon body region and body size. Due to the differing structure of the connective tissue and fat cells, it has been found that men do not respond to the therapy as well as women.

Generally, 2-4 treatments in 6-8 week intervals are recommended for successful treatment, but many patients are satisfied with the results they get after just 2 or 3 injections.

What are the risks of Lipodissolve injections?

Lipodissolve was discovered in the 1980's. Since that time, it has been performed thousands of times by physicians around the world, especially in Europe. Even though it is not yet FDA approved, it's considered safe when performed by a trained professional. Patients often experience temporary redness, swelling and bruising, but no major side effects have been reported. Dr. Ignatowicz is a member of both NETWORK-Lipolysis and the American Society of Aesthetic Lipodissolve (ASAL), which are international associations of physicians trained and certified in lipodissolve injections.

As with any injection, there is always the risk of infection.
